Title : Outcome based assessment in senior years mathematics classrooms
Description : In recent years, some senior years mathematics teachers have been considering alternatives to common practices of assessment of students’ learning. After embarking on a process of inquiry into his assessment practice, David Long implemented one such alternative. He has been doing outcome based assessment for the last several years. More recently, and following David’s lead, Georgia Sigvaldason and Allison Coe have modified their assessment practices and they are evaluating its strengths and weaknesses. As you will hear from their varying degrees of experience, there are compelling reasons for implementing outcome based assessment and there are potential struggles along the way.
