Title : Collaborative inquiry projects for teachers of mathematics: Getting started
Description : How can we enable teachers of mathematics to initiate and support professional learning in the teaching and learning of K-12 mathematics that is long term, collaborative, and self-directed? The mathematics consultants of Mystery Lake School Division in Thompson, with support from Manitoba Education and the U of M Faculty of Education, have adopted that question as their own action-inquiry agenda. In February 2016 a dozen teachers accepted our invitation to form inquiry groups. Because the inquiry projects are looking toward long-term collaborative professional learning, it is too early to talk about results. Instead, we’ll share our story of getting the teacher inquiry projects started.
