Title : Engaging schools and community in research (Aboriginal Youth Mentorship Program)
Description : The Aboriginal Mentorship Youth Program (AMYP) for all nations is an innovative healthy living program that promotes Mino Pimiwatiswin (“the good life”) , by tapping into skills strengths and aspirations of Aboriginal children and youth. AMYP builds on the strengths talents and energy of the young people, AMYP offers an after school program, that provides a supportive holistic approach to children and youth physical activity, nutrition and education programming. Presently the program is facilitated by University College of the North ECE students and RD Parker High School students and is delivered to grade four students. This year the program is expanding to Cross Lake.
